Invitation to: Central European Summer Course on Mycology, Szeged, 5-9.7.2010.

The course addresses both the fundamental principles and techniques of molecular biology, genetics, genomics and diagnostics of pathogenic fungal species. Students gain an in-depth knowledge of pathogenic mechanisms, molecular genetics, and the biochemistry of important virulence factors. Other topics include phylogenomics as a new way to discover disease mechanisms, host adaptation mechanisms of pathogenic fungi, epidemiology, molecular typing, analysis of extracellular elements of pathogenic fungal species and much more. A detailed scientific program can be found here. Each lecture directly relates molecular biology to current laboratory techniques. The laboratory portion of the course represents different experimental projects. A combination of

In the year 2002 Croatian, Hungarian and Slovenian microbiological societies organised a joint meeting "Power of microbes in industry and environment" in Opatija, Croatia, covering some of the most prominent topics of applied microbiology. Five years later the second meeting with a similar scope was held in Zadar, Croatia, this time with the Czechoslovak society joining the family of co-organisers. It was at that meeting when a decision was made to continue the series of symposia every three years thus it is our pleasure to invite you to "Power of microbes in industry and environment 2010". The meeting will this

In the last 200 years European scientists, such as Louis Pasteur, Robert Koch, Sergei N. Winogradsky and Martinus W.
