Charlotte Lindhardt holds a MSc. degree in food science from the Royal Danish Veterinary and Agricultural College.
She has worked with development and marketing of Rapid Methods for Food Microbiology since 1984, and is since 1990 employed by Merck KGaA.
Ms Lindhardt is currently product manager for Rapid Methods for Pathogen detection in Division Merck Millipore, Biomonitoring.

Performance of Rapid Screening assays for Entero Hemorrhagic E.coli in foods.
Abstract:
The approach to monitoring for presence of Entero Hemorrhagic E.coli (EHEC) in foods is undergoing changes at the moment, due to an increase in the proportion of EHEC infections and HUS cases caused by non-O157 E.coli organisms.
The strategy towards including other emerging serotypes is indicated by USDA currently introducing a PCR based method for screening for 6 non-O157 serogroup in raw beef, and by the development of a draft ISO method based on a similar concept.
Performance data for some new commercially available solutions to monitoring for EHEC / STEC organisms in food will be presented.
